Chantelle Huang is a contemporary artist from Hong Kong. She holds a master’s degree from the University of South Wales (UK) and graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at the Hong Kong First Institute of Art and Design. She is the Deputy Director of the Hongzhi Zhongji Hakka Culture Museum in China and a columnist for Hong Kong Lion Rock Daily and Sing Pao. Her works are marked by intellectual depth, restraint, and a sense of childlike playfulness. She has received honors including “Best Exhibiting Artist” in Los Angeles, USA, and is recognized as a China National First-Class Artist and Calligrapher. Her works have been exhibited and collected by internationally known institutions and platforms, including the Los Angeles Art Fair (USA), Boomer Gallery in London (UK), the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum (Japan), the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre, and the Hong Kong Central Library.
Born in Guangdong, Huang was influenced in her early artistic development by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. She later earned an Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts from the Hong Kong First Institute of Art and Design. After that, she consciously chose to “let go” of previously acquired external forms, entering painting through an abstract visual language derived from nature. From this point, she gradually developed a mode of expression that places greater emphasis on the spiritual dimension: the image is not structured around narrative priority, but generated through the flow of consciousness and sensation.
In her creative methodology, “non-predetermination” is key: no prior planning, no fixed painting position, and the brush moves according to shifts in self-awareness. This way of working brings each stroke closer to the authentic psychological rhythm of the present moment, while forming a distinctive interpretation of the inner spiritual world and lived reality. She is also recorded as one of the founders of the Stream-of-Consciousness School, and her works consistently retain rationality and the independent thinking of a woman in the new era.
Methodologically, Huang emphasizes the “non-preset” approach: no advance planning, no fixed position while painting, and brushstrokes that move with the flow of consciousness. As a result, her images generate a kind of “free and vivid vitality within the spiritual field”—maintaining rational control while preserving intuitive leaps and the lightness of childlike playfulness. She has been described as “one of the founders of the Stream-of-Consciousness School” and continues to embody the independent thinking of the contemporary woman. Huang possesses a strong intuitive sensibility and perceptual awareness, and she is able to transform inner vitality into sustained creative momentum. At the same time, she does not confine herself to the role of an artist who operates only within exhibition spaces: she actively promotes the development of art, participates in the curation of multiple exhibition projects, and is also involved in art transactions and market-oriented practices.
Since becoming a professional art practitioner, and with sponsorship from a Hong Kong consortium, she has led and curated international exhibitions including Vietnam–Hong Kong: Art Excellence Exhibition at the Vietnam National Museum of Fine Arts, Consciousness · Forming at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre, and Inheritance of Artistic Classics at Hong Kong City Hall. These projects have built exhibition platforms for emerging artists of different age groups, while promoting exchange and joint presentation between young artists from China and overseas.
In addition, she is the founder and manager of the charitable organization Hong Kong International Youth Artists Association, and in 2022 she established the Canada International Youth Artists Association in Canada, with the aim of helping young artists from different countries promote their works and gain broader social recognition. Chantelle Huang has received honors such as “Best Exhibiting Artist” in Los Angeles, USA, and is also recorded as a China National First-Class Artist and Calligrapher. Her works have been exhibited and collected on platforms including the Los Angeles Art Fair (USA), Boomer Gallery in London (UK), the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum (Japan), the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre, and the Hong Kong Central Library.

Within the context of cross-cultural exhibitions, Chantelle Huang’s works often establish their first impression through an “intense sensory entry.” At the Vietnam–Hong Kong: Art Excellence Exhibition at the Vietnam National Museum of Fine Arts, her work Mystical Celebration uses colored ink as its medium, integrating rich and brilliant colors into abstract ink painting to form a large-scale Stream-of-Consciousness expression with strong visual impact. Viewers seem to enter a mysterious and unknown world, as if participating in a grand celebration; her brushwork and use of color reveal striking creativity and emotional tension.
In intertextual dialogue with this piece is her Rhythm of Nature series. These works are intended to awaken viewers’ perception of the beauty of nature and guide them into a tranquil, harmonious space of natural imagery. Through different media and techniques, the series enables viewers to feel the power and emotion embedded in nature, thereby helping them re-establish a deeper connection with the natural world.

In today’s fast-paced urban life, people often overlook the beauty and wonder of the natural world. The Rhythm of Nature series was created in response to this condition: it seeks to awaken viewers’ perception of nature’s beauty and guide them into a quieter, more harmonious spiritual field of nature.
Created through multiple media and techniques, the series emphasizes the power and emotional resonance inherent in nature. Whether one is surrounded by the intensity of city life or standing among mountains, forests, and lakesides, these works aim to offer a sense of inner comfort and renewal, helping viewers reconnect with the natural world.
